Ever stared at your screen wondering, "Okay, I want to print this at 8×10 inches... but how many pixels is that supposed to be?"

You're not alone. It's one of the most common stumbling blocks in print-on-demand, and getting it wrong means blurry prints, rejected uploads, or frustrated customers leaving bad reviews.

So we built a simple tool to take the math off your plate.

Introducing the SecondStream DPI Calculator

Our DPI Calculator does one thing really well: you tell it your print size in inches (or centimeters), pick your target DPI, and it instantly gives you the exact pixel dimensions you need.

Making a 16×20 poster at 300 DPI? That's 4,800 × 6,000 pixels. No Googling, no spreadsheets, no second-guessing.

Why DPI Matters for Print-on-Demand

If you're selling on Etsy, Redbubble, or any print-on-demand platform, 300 DPI is the magic number for sharp, professional prints. It's the standard for photos, art prints, and pretty much anything your customers are going to hold in their hands or hang on their walls.

Drop below that and things start getting fuzzy — literally. At 150 DPI you might get away with a large poster viewed from across the room, but for anything up close, 300 is where you want to be.

How to Use It

Head over to the DPI Calculator and:

  1. Enter your width and height in inches or centimeters

  2. Set your target DPI (it defaults to 300, which is perfect for most print-on-demand work)

  3. Read off your pixel dimensions and you're good to go

There are common size presets built in too, so you can quickly check dimensions for popular print sizes without typing anything.

One Less Thing to Worry About

Building a print-on-demand business has enough moving parts — finding your niche, creating designs, optimizing listings, driving traffic. Your image dimensions shouldn't be one more source of stress.

Bookmark it, use it whenever you need it, and get back to the creative work that actually moves the needle.
