The listing fee is charged in USD and shown here in your local currency as an approximation. Offsite Ads fees are capped at 100 USD per order.
How Etsy fees work
01
Every sale pays four fees
A flat $0.20 listing renewal, a 6.5% transaction fee, payment processing that varies by country, and sometimes a small regulatory operating fee. All four leave before you see a cent.
02
Offsite Ads can surprise you
When an Etsy ad elsewhere on the web brings the sale, Etsy takes 15% of the order, or 12% once your shop has passed $10,000 in trailing sales, and you rarely know which sales came from an ad.
03
Price from profit, not from fear
Instead of picking a price and hoping it works, set the take-home you want and work backwards. Switch to Price from profit above and the calculator finds the list price for you.
Etsy fees, answered
How much does Etsy take from a $10 sale?
For a US seller with a $10 digital product and no Offsite Ads, Etsy takes $1.40: a $0.20 listing renewal, a $0.65 transaction fee at 6.5%, and $0.55 in payment processing at 3% plus $0.25. You keep $8.60, an effective rate of 14%. If the same sale comes through an Offsite Ad at 15%, Etsy takes $2.90 and you keep $7.10.
What fees does Etsy charge on every sale?
Four can apply. A $0.20 listing renewal, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus any shipping you charge, a payment processing fee that varies by country, and an Offsite Ads fee only when the sale came from one of Etsy's external ads. Sellers in some countries also pay a small regulatory operating fee.
What is the difference between 12% and 15% Offsite Ads?
Shops that have made less than $10,000 in any trailing 365 days pay 15% on attributed sales and can opt out. Once a shop crosses $10,000, the rate drops to 12% but participation becomes mandatory for the life of the shop. The fee is recalculated monthly and never exceeds $100 per order.
Are Etsy fees different for digital products?
The rates are identical. The practical difference is that digital downloads have no shipping charge, so the 6.5% transaction fee applies to the item price alone. Flip the digital product toggle above and the calculator handles it.
Does this calculator store my numbers?
No. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded or saved, and you do not need an account. Change the numbers as often as you like.
